The Volume 2 study, Law and Life, explores the rest of the Pentateuch: Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. In a mighty act of power, God delivered the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. As we journey with them in the wilderness, we’ll discover that God didn’t just deliver them for freedom’s sake but to make them His covenant people. God would walk with His people in the wilderness, sanctifying them as they learned what it meant to live as His people—set apart in a culture which worshiped other gods. God gave them the law, a gift which not only revealed His expectations but His nature. While Israel continued to disobey and wander into idolatry, God continued to extend compassion and grace, even providing a way to dwell with His people through the tabernacle. As we look back, we’ll discover all the ways the law and the tabernacle pointed to Jesus—the One who would fulfill every word and the One who would come here to dwell in our midst.
